Meet the Team:
Creative Leader: Bryan Pate has 20-plus years experience in graphic design and advertising. He has worked with several major corporations in their advertising design department, generating ads for high-end magazines and newspapers and generating brand recognition by designing logos and promotional materials. Prior to taking ownership of Pate Media Group, Bryan served in a managerial role for Publix Super Markets in their printing department.
Bryan currently serves as the Art Director for Mustang Times Magazine and Barbeque Mag Online.
Editorial Director: Mary Jean Wesche has 33-plus years experience in publishing encompassing circulation and editorial. She has worked for several major publishing houses on high-end magazines as Circulation Manager, Managing Editor, Editor, and Editorial Director. Mary Jean currently serves as Editor of Mustang Times the monthly news magazine for the Mustang Club of America and also as the editor for Barbeque Mag Online. She has worked with Simmons-Boardman Publishing Group, Dobbs Publishing Group, Petersen Publishing, and Emap USA.
Editor: Donald Farr has been a Mustang owner since 1970 and involved in the Mustang hobby as a journalist and editor since 1977. In 1980, he joined Mustang Monthly to become the magazine’s first full-time editor. During his 18-years at Dobbs Publications, he authored Mustang Boss 302: Ford’s Trans-Am Ponycar and co-wrote How to Restore Your Mustang and The Mustang Recognition Guide. in 1998, he became editor of Mustang & Fords magazine. For a brief time, he left the print world to work at Mustangweekly.com before returning to his roots at Mustang Monthly from 2003 to 2014. In 2010, Ford Motor Company asked him to revise his original Boss 302 book with new chapters about the 2012 Boss 302. The updated book, Mustang Boss 302: From Racing Legend to Modern Muscle Car, was published by Motorbooks in July 2011. His latest book, Mustang: Fifty Years, Ford’s official Mustang 50th anniversary publication, was published in October 2013. He received a Lifetime Appreciation Award from Ford’s Team Mustang in 2011 and the Lee Iacocca Award in 2012. He was inducted into the Mustang Club of America’s Mustang Hall of Fame in 2012. In May 2014, Donald joined Pate Media Group as the editor of Mustang Times, the official publication of the Mustang Club of America.
Design Specialist: Rick Timpe has 12-plus years experience in graphic design and advertising. He has a Bachelors Degree in Advertising and an Associates Degree in Graphic Design. He has worked as a freelance graphic designer and is currently lead Graphic Artist for Pate Media Group, Mustang Times Magazine and Barbeque Mag Online. His work was also featured in the Artistik Envy 2008 Contest held by the International Academy of Design.
